To respond safely and as effectively as possible, Food Bank of the Rockies has created an Emergency Support Team, prepared to assist people in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Visit Food Bank of the Rockies website to get an updated list of food banks in your area!
We plan to continue distributing pre-made boxes, with the support of our food donors, by organizing a food drop-off program for the most vulnerable members of our community. This includes senior citizens and anyone else who either cannot or should not come to our drive-up food distribution.
Wednesdays: delivery ONLY to the following zip codes - 80202, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19 and 23. NO drive up or walk up will be available.
Saturdays: Deliveries to the following zip codes - 80202, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19 and 23. AS WELL AS drive up and walk up from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with no restrictions.
If you are in need of a food donation please contact the Denver Inner City Parish at least 24 hours in advance.
CALL TO ACTION
DICP is looking for able-bodied volunteers who can help us sort and make food boxes for
distribution. We need volunteers in the following areas:
To pick up and deliver the boxes, which requires a volunteer (who can lift a 40 lb food box) and a vehicle (large enough to deliver 5+ food boxes).
To help at our outdoor drive-up food pantry, which involves directing cars and moving pre-made food boxes (up to 40 lbs).
To make food boxes for delivery, which involves sorting food into easily transportable boxes.
Obviously, volunteers must be in good health and without compromised immune systems and cannot have had cold or flu symptoms within their household in the past 14 days.
CALL FOR DONATIONS
We also have a desperate need of the following:
Surface disinfectants like bleach.
Dry or canned beans
Dried fruit (raisins, etc.)
Baby food and formula
Soft foods (applesauce, etc)
