CALL TO ACTION To All Of Our Supporters
Updated: Mar 26, 2020
In light of COVID-19 we wanted to send this update on what we are currently doing and most importantly invite you to DICP's call to action!

COVID-19 has created difficulty for all of us. DICP has decided to do some things a little differently while still serving the members of our community.
As always, DICP relies extensively on your financial support. If you are able, pleas continue to give generously, knowing that we will turn your financial contributions into direct services for those who rely on us. Thanks again!
A s of right now, our 1212 Mariposa building is largely closed to keep clients and staff safe.
We have had to postpone the in-person gatherings and activities of the Parish Seniors program, but are staying in touch via phone trees.
Our energy assistance program is continuing via phone and email.
Diaper distribution, basic needs packs, and mail pickup are by appointment and via non-contact safe hand-off.
CALL TO ACTION
DICP’s Food Pantry began distributing pre-made boxes on March 18th and March 21st. Going forward, we plan to continue distributing pre-made boxes, with the support of our food donors, by organizing a food drop-off program for the most vulnerable members of our community. This includes senior citizens and anyone else who either cannot or should not come to our drive-up food distribution. And this is where we need your help!
DICP is looking for able-bodied volunteers who can help us sort and make food boxes for
distribution. We need volunteers in the following areas:
To pick up and deliver the boxes, which requires a volunteer (who can lift a 40 lb food box) and a vehicle (large enough to deliver 5+ food boxes).
To help at our outdoor drive-up food pantry, which involves directing cars and moving pre-made food boxes (up to 40 lbs).
To make food boxes for delivery, which involves sorting food into easily transportable boxes.
Obviously, volunteers must be in good health and without compromised immune systems and cannot have had cold or flu symptoms within their household in the past 14 days.
CALL FOR DONATIONS
We also have a desperate need of the following:
Quality boxes for the pre-made food packs
Latex Gloves
Medical Masks
Hand sanitizer
Surface disinfectants like bleach.
Cereal
Dry or canned beans
Rice
Canned vegetables
Canned soups
Peanut butter
Pasta
Dried fruit (raisins, etc.)
Canned fruit
Baby food and formula
Soft foods (applesauce, etc)
As always, DICP relies extensively on your financial support. If you are able, please continue to give generously, knowing that we will turn your financial contributions into direct services for those who rely on us. Thanks again.
