| The Emergency Food Bank at the Denver Inner City Parish is our longest running program and serves a strong need in the community. The clients who use our food bank range from low-income working families to homeless individuals.
Our Food Bank serves 15,000 people annualy. Our families come from the immediate neighborhood to as far away as 50 miles; we have no boundaries.
Our average family is Latino, with two or three children in the household. We provide food for a family for three days. Because we are limited on food items, we ask that families use our services only once a month.
We receive food donations and purchase food weekly from COMPA Food Ministries, Volunteers of America, and the Food Bank of the Rockies.
Many local church congregations and individuals contribute food to make the food bank possible.
More often than we would like, we have closed our pantry doors due to lack of food. Referring to other food banks becomes challenging, though, because we are unique in that we have no boundaries and only require a picture ID in order to use our services. We accept food and monetary donations. |
